A letter from Mass Luciano, Mr. Gay World™ 2015
Dear friends,
Wow… It’s hard to believe all that has happened since the Mr. Gay World™ competition in South Africa last year. If I can sum it all up in one word, it would have to be PERSEVERANCE. I’ve always believed that anything worth fighting for will always have obstacles in the way, but the biggest obstacle you will find is self-doubt. Overcome this and you can accomplish anything.
I want to share this message with all the new delegates from around the world competing in Malta tonight for the Mr. Gay World™ 2016 title. The title doesn’t make the person. It is the values, the determination and the heart that make the person; the person makes the title great. You all have inspired me with your passion for LGBT issues and your stories will inspire the world. Never stop dreaming!
I would like to thank the Mr. Gay World™ Organization for giving me a platform to raise awareness on the rapid increase of new HIV infections amongst young gay men around the world. I will continue to promote the importance of HIV testing with my website at www.showmeyourprick.org. I wouldn’t be who I am without the support of my family and friends around the globe, thank you all from the bottom of my twisted heart. And last but not least, a special thank you to my partner in life and mischief… you are the reason I believe in love.
