Exclusive Interview with Mister Tourism Malaysia 2022

1) First of all, many congratulations to you , Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about you?

My name is Kirtanraj, I’m 27 years old and I’m from Malaysia. I’m a Malaysian Indian by citizen, a fitness consultant by profession and a content creator by passion.

2) What are your next projects ?

I recently traveled together with my Bachelor of Malaysia family for a charity and donation drive and it was an incredibly wholesome experience. Being able to give and making someone’s day is truly a fulfilling feeling.

I’m currently working on a few projects but my priority for my 2023 project is to help transform as many lives possible both physically and mentally for the better and I hope that I’ll be able to do that with Mister Tourism World.

4) Mister Tourism World ’s slogan is “Building a better World”. Do you support a cause?

Yes 100%. I recently visited Sabah, Malaysia for a charity drive where we gave out food to families who are in need and school bags to kids who are in need as well. No effort is too big or small if you’re able to even change a single persons life. With good energy comes a ripple effect and I hope this will inspire others to help those in need as well. Small changes can truly a go a long way. We as human beings have been coexisting with one another for centuries and have evolved over time by building a better nation and world together. So let’s work on further building a better world together because there’s always room to be better than who we were yesterday.

5) What is your favorite song or music video?

My favourite song is Beautiful by Eminem. The lyrics in this music is deep and I found it extremely relatable since the age of 15. I’ve struggled a lot with mental health and anxiety and “Beautiful” really helped me to get out of whatever negative state that I was in.

6 ) What is your favorite food?

Well I’m from Malaysia and our food is ridiculously good over here. So I don’t have a specific favourite but to name a few it would be nasi lemak (Malay cuisine), Maggie goreng telur mata (Indian Muslim cuisine), banana leaf (Indian cuisine) and chicken rice (Chinese cuisine). As you can see, I’m a foodie and I love trying out different types of food from different cultures and background. Can’t wait to get a new favourite from the Philippines!

7) What is your favorite animal ?

My favourite has to be dogs. I got a Shih Tzu at the age of 11 as a birthday gift and he has been with me for 15 years. We grew up together as brothers and my love towards dogs are unconditional thanks to him. Unfortunately he passed on March 2021 but our memories together is something I’ll cherish for eternity. Unconditional love and loyalty, traits that last a lifetime.

8)  What is your favorite movie ?

My all time favourite movie has to be Avatar. Avatar taught me that Mother Nature always wins and nothing can break the bond of unity regardless of race, religion, colour and gender.

9) What is your favorite color ?

Blue. Ocean blue and sky blue to be specific. Ocean blue because it always reminds me to stay grounded and humble. Sky blue because well, the sky is the limit and nothing is impossible in this life.

10) Name your favorite book ?

I don’t really read that much but I personally love listening to podcasts and consuming knowledge driven YouTube videos. One of my favourites is Gary Vee. His videos are really inspiring from a human values perspective and as an entrepreneur perspective.

11) Name your favorite magazine ?

Unfortunately I don’t really read magazines but I love reading research papers on health and nutrition. It’s something I’ve been doing for the past 5 years and I love understanding science based education. I personally find it intriguing and there’s always something new to learn from as we evolve.

12) Who is your favorite celebrity ?

Dwayne Johnson or also known as the The Rock. His story is extremely inspiring as he literally built himself from the ground to where he is today. A few of my personal attributes from him is that I love how he’s a very disciplined person which I truly strive to be, I love how he always shares his love with his family and specifically his daughters on his socials and how he always speaks up on his culture which is the Black culture and also the Samoan culture. Truly a champions mindset in every aspect.

13) What’s your special message to your fans and our fellow readers?

Well I’m just another human being just like all of y’all but I’m looking forward to sharing my story, my life experiences and what I have to offer and how I can contribute to help build a better community and a better world. All of our stories matter, so I hope mine will help inspire another person out there to do more, be more and dream more. I wouldn’t be who I am without the support from everyone around me nor where I am without the continuous support from the people who have followed my journey thus far. I’m truly grateful for all the love and support and I hope that I can do you all proud. I can’t wait to meet my fellow contestants from all around the globe, making new friends, building new bonds, understanding different cultures and of course sharing the Malaysian culture as well. Can’t wait to explore the Philippines for the first time. Terima kasih and maraming salamat.
