1) First of all, many congratulations to you , Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about you?
Thanks a lot for give me this opportunity! My name is Martin Machiñena and I’m 20 years old. I was born in the capital city of Uruguay, Montevideo. I love to do any sport, but nowadays I only have time to work out. But not so long ago, I was part of the Uruguayan Handball National Team, which brought me the opportunity to travel around the world. I also represented teams in Spain, Germany and Italy.
I also enjoy music a lot, not only listening but playing too. Playing the Guitar has accompanied me through my life and it has been a great way to express myself, even when words can’t. I even played in many Metal bands. Nowadays, I’m focused on getting graduated from the degree of communication
2) What are your next projects ?
After Mister Tourism World I want to keep developing my International Modeling career and keep paving the way for future national candidates by raising pageantry’s popularity in Uruguay. I also want to continue my academic studies.
3) If you are elected “Mister Tourism world 2022”, what will be your first action ?
To thank one by one the people who gave me that possibility of representing such an amazing organization. Also thank my fellow candidates for sharing this life changing experience with me. After that, I would get in touch with the organization to build the best strategy to face this unique challenge.
4) Mister Tourism World ’s slogan is “Building a better World”. Do you support a cause?
The pandemic we lived through, affected not only tourism industry but many families who lived on tourism. It is our duty to help them to restore they positions because they helped us to create life changing experience by hosting us and offering they services. It is also a great opportunity to shift the industry to grow in the become the most ecofriendly possible.
5) What is your favorite song or music video?
Nothing Else Matters from Metallica has a great meaning for me because I try to live my life based on my values, inspiring people, improving every day, opening my mind for a different views and nothing else matters.
6 ) What is your favorite food?
I really love to eat chicken with vegetables. It is the best meal to stay fit
7) What is your favorite animal ?
Horses are elegant, stylized and great companions. Their majesty and strength are unique.
8) What is your favorite movie ?
Dead Poets Society is a movie who taught me about the greatness of empowering people and trying to be the best version of yourself every day. Carpe Diem
9) What is your favorite color ?
Black and White are the most interesting colors because of the opposition they represent. On the one hand, White is the maximum expression of light, and on the other hand, Black is the absence of it.
10) Name your favorite book ?
The art of War from Sun Tzu is a book that was originally made to guide generals in their military strategies. Its lessons can be applied to different fields as Businesses and self-improvement. I don’t support war because violence is never the answer. But I find it very useful to face our most difficult battles.
11) Name your favorite magazine ?
I usually read the metalhammer magazine, which offers hot news about the metal music scene.
12) Who is your favorite celebrity ?
Luis Suarez is an Uruguay football player who became one of the best in his prime. I really admire him not only because he made himself from scratch, but also when he got far and successful he always stayed humble.
13) What’s your special message to your fans and our fellow readers?
Is our duty to build a better world starting from within. As I try to set an example, I try to be the best version of myself and to self-improve. We have to chase our dreams and work hard for them. I’m honored to have the opportunity of representing my country in this magnificent platform because of the possibility I have to raise the popularity of Uruguay as a Tourist Destination. I will try my best to become the next Mister Tourism World and keep inspiring people around the world.
